Feels Like Home by Chantal Kreviazuk

I heard this at one point while watching Dawson's Creek though I can no longer recall which season and episode but the song haunted me for like forever ... waaaaaaaa. I absolutely looooove it and it's just sweeeeeet.

Something in your eyes makes me want to lose myself
Makes me want to lose myself in your arms
There's something in your voice
Makes my heart beat fast
Hope this feeling lasts the rest of my life

If you knew how lonely my life has been
And how long I've been so alone
If you knew how I wanted someone to come along
And change my life the way you've done

It Feels like home to me
It Feels like home to me
It Feels like I'm all the way back where I come from

It Feels like home to me
It Feels like home to me
It Feels like I'm all the way back where I belong

A window breaks down a long dark street
And a siren wails in the night
But I'm alright cause I have you here with me
And I can almost see through the dark there is light

If you knew how much this moment means to me
And how long I've waited for your touch
If you knew how happy you are making me
I never thought that I'd love anyone so much

It Feels like home to me
It Feels like home to me
It Feels like I'm all the way back where I come from

It Feels like home to me
It Feels like home to me
It Feels like I'm all the way back where I belong
It Feels like I'm all the way back where I belong

Old School | Dawson's Creek

This was first aired when I was in freshmen High School and it got everybody addicted (when I say everybody, I mean all the girls) but back then we don't have any television and Dawson's Creek was aired every Monday night at 8AM and our neighbors don't watch it because it's in English and they'd rather watch something in our native tongue.

I saw bits and pieces of the series but not all the seasons and with the power of Ebay am able to acquire the entire seasons in DVD and now am watching it. Episode by episode, season per season and it reminds me of high school. Another trip down memory lane here.

So here's the track at the opening of the series:

I Don't Want To Wait by Paula Cole

so open up your morning light
and say a little prayer for right
you know that if we are to stay alive
and see the peace in every eye

she had two babies
one was six months one was three
in the war of '44
every telephone ring
every heartbeat stinging
when thought it was God calling her
oh would her son grow to know his father

CHORUS:
i don't want to wait
for our lives to be over
i want to know right now
what will it be
i don't want to wait
for our lives to be over
will it be yes or will it be
sorry

he showed up all wet
on the rainy front step
wearing shrapnel in his skin
and the war he saw
lives inside him still
it's so hard to be gentle and warm
the years passed by and now
he has a granddaughter

chorus

oh so you look at me
from across the room
you're wearing your anguish again
believe i know the feeling
it sucks you into the jaws of anger
oh, so breathe a little more deeply my love
all we have is the very moment
and i don't want to do what
his father and his father and his father did
i want to be here now

so open up your morning light
and say a little prayer for I
you know that if we are to stay alive
and see the peace in every eye

chorus (2 times)

so open up your morning light
and say a little prayer for right
you know that if we are to stay alive
and see the love in every eye
