Got You Where I Want You by Virgil

Why this band didn't reach worldwide success is beyond me but I am glad I had the pleasure of sampling their songs and that there are people worldwide who posted their video on youtube sharing this band's awesome musical ingenuity. I discovered them when one of their songs was played on one of the Buffy The Vampire Slayer episodes, am a huge fan of BTVS and on that episode where Willow got really bad and turned almost everybody on the bar into animals the band played the song "Vermillion Borders" by Virgil. Doing a bit of research led me to finding another great song from the band and that's Got You Where I Want You, seems to be the one song with music video. Check it out below.

Got You Where I Want You - Virgil

Try to understand
What I'm not and what I am
I'm hiding like a boy
But staring like a man
Star above the sea
I live to watch it breathe
Make you make-believe
And tell you how to be

Pre-Chorus:
Little girl dance for me
Little girl dance for me

Chorus:
Don't try running I know where you'll hide
Don't start lying I can read your mind
Just do everything I taught you to
Got you where I want you
Don't cry baby when you can't resist
Nothing you can say will get you out of this
There's not anything that you can do
Got you where I want you now

Try to understand
Who I'm not and who I am
I'm strong enough to run
But not enough to stand
You've collected moods
The one everybody knows
Holding on to some
But some you're letting go

Repeat Pre-Chorus And Chorus

I'm ready to wait in some dark corner
Is it getting late or just getting warmer?
Let's play, let's play
Oh yeah
Right now, right now

Repeat Chorus

(Little girl dance for me)
Got you where I want you now
(Little girl dance for me)
Nothing you can say will get you out of this
(Little girl dance for me)
Got you where I want you now
(Where I want you...)

Funny enough, I just dug out one of my old Virgil CDs. I had the pleasure of knowing them, from their prime to their break-up. Amazing talent, and I was very sad to see them end. Nice to see someone else has the same feelings.
