Christmas Music

I know its still way too early to be thinking about Christmas but mom used to say that when the "ber" months starts then it's time to start the countdown for Christmas, September is near just a few winks away and here I am scouring the net for free Christmas music downloads, am sure something will turn up and they'll eventually grow in number as the holiday season approaches. I just want my player to be updated and in tune with the season. A good friend did mention that it'd be great to get a hold of some Christmas Rock downloads and not just the regular classic hymns we've grown up to and I kinda agree with him, but I tell him rock or not so long as they're free Christmas music I'd be ever grateful.

Looking forward to a blissful holidays ...

Take My Breath Away by Emma Bunton

When Spice Girls were a hit and a household name every girl in my class have their favorite Spice Girl, in my circle of friends I was Baby Spice ... and I do like her that when disbanded I still listen to her solo album. Take My Breath Away is one of my favorites, she looks stunning in the video.

Take My Breath Away by Emma Bunton

If I told you how I feel about you
Would you say the same and
If I wrote it in a letter
Would you keep it or throw it away

I never thought I'd feel the way I'm feeling lately
When everything you seem to do just drives me crazy

Every waking day you take my breath away
With every word you say you take my breath away
You look at me that way, baby come what may
I hope that you'll always know how to take my breath away
How to take my breath away

If you told me how you feel about me
Things I did not know
If you said you'd fill my heart with all your loving
Til it overflowed
I don't know the way you feel but boy I'm hoping
I always used to hide a way, but now I'm open

Every waking day you take my breath away
With every word you say you take my breath away
You look at me that way, baby come what may
I hope that you'll always know how to take my breath away
How to take my breath away
Take my breath away
Take my breath away
Take my breath away
Every waking day you take my breath away
With every word you say you take my breath away
You look at me that way, baby come what may
I hope that you'll always know how to take my breath away
How to take my breath away
(How to take my breath away)
Take my breath away
Take my breath away
(How to take my breath away)
Take my breath away
Take my breath away
Take my breath away
Take my breath away

Secret Garden by Bruce Springteen

Apart from being a music addict, I also happen to be a hopeless romantic and when this movie was show in 1996, I was 11 years old, I get to watch the movie when I was 15 and this movie probably brought out the hopeless romantic in me ... it made me believe in love and happy endings. So here's Secret Garden by Bruce Springteen ..

Secret Garden by Bruce Springteen

She'll let you in her house
If you come knockin' late at night
She'll let you in her mouth
If the words you say are right
If you pay the price
She'll let you deep inside
But there's a secret garden she hides

She'll let you in her car
To go drivin' 'round
She'll let you into the parts of herself
That'll bring you down
She'll let you in her heart
If you got a hammer and a vise
But into her secret garden, don't think twice

You've gone a million miles
How far'd you get
To that place where you can't remember
And you can't forget

She'll lead you down a path
There'll be tenderness in the air
She'll let you come just far enough
So you know she's really there
Then she'll look at you and smile
And her eyes will say
She's got a secret garden
Where everything you want
Where everything you need
Will always stay
A million miles away

She's So High by Kurt Nilsen

I used to think that nothing beats the original version ... but now am taking that back lol. I prefer Kurt Nilsen's rendition of She's So High, must be the voice. Tal's version is cool but I find it lacks force and power ... but hey thats just my opinion. So I found this video on youtube of Kurt wowing the audience with his performance.

She's So High by Kurt Nilsen

she's blood, flesh and bone
no tucks or silicone
she's touch smell sight taste and sound
but somehow i can't believe that anything should happen
i know where i belong and nothing's gonna happen

cause she's so high
high above me
she's so lovely
she's so high
high above me
like cleopatra, joan of arc, or aphrodite
she's so high
high above me

first class and fancy free
she's high society
she's got the best of everything
what could a guy like me ever really offer
she's perfect as she can be
why should i even bother

cause she's so high
high above me
she's so lovely
she's so high
like cleopatra, joan of arc or aphrodite
she's so high
high above me

she comes to speak to me
i freeze immediately
cause what she says sounds so unreal
but somehow i can't believe that anything should happen
i know where i belong and nothing's gonna happen

'cos she's so high
high above me
she's so lovely
she's so high
like cleopatra, joan of arc or aphrodite
'cos she's so high
high above me

So In Love by Christian Wunderlich

When this guy came over to visit he was compared to another German musician (Gil Ofarim), the press here stated that Gil was way friendlier compared to Christian and that he'll never attain the popularity Gil achieved in Asia. I don't really care whether he's friendly or not all I know is I like this one song of his ... another round of mooshy mushy goodness.

So In Love by Christian Wunderlich

All alone on a nighttrain
Like a stranger on a sinking ship
Will I ever know the secret to your heart

Do you care, am I dreaming
When I reach for you is that burning flame
Just inside of me are we a world apart

Chorus :
I'm so in love, so in love with you
I'm so in love, if you only knew
I'm so in love, I'll never be the same
Cause I'm so in love, I'm so in love with you

Should I dare to entice you
Will a touch of your fingertips, take my heart again
You know it's been so long

Is it wrong how I want you
When it feels so right being close and
Who is to tell me now that all's been said and done

[Chorus]

You, you never understood
And you were gone when our love felt so good
You unchain my heart and set me free
Or tell me that you're gonna be with me

[Chorus] x 3

What You Do About Me by M2M

Remember M2M? Marion Raven and Marit Larsen? I dunno about you but I was 14 when they became a hit internationally and like every other teenage girl I listened to their songs too. This song is off from their second album I think (if am not mistaken, am writing from memory here) right before they disbanded.

What You Do About Me by M2M

I wish that I was her and I wish that she was me
You gotta let her go, and I know that you agree
'Cause how could we ever start?
If you're afraid to break her heart?
You say you love me so
You have to let her go

Chorus
All that she wants is you
All that she sees is you
All that you gotta do
It's set her free
That's what
That's what
What you do about me

Love's not an easy thing
Always somebody gets hurt
I know you were meant for me, even though she saw you first
But deal with her honestly
I won't let you cheat with me
I bet you never knew
What you put yourself into

Chorus

We could beautiful
We could be so special
We could be wonderful

Chorus 2x

I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man by Jordan Knight

I love this song and I love the man!!! lol I was prolly 14 when this song came blasting through MTV and on every radio station here and it's one of those many songs that got stuck in my head all through these years.

I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man by Jordan Knight

Verse 1
Only last June when her old man ran away
She couldn't stop crying cause she knew he was gone to stay
10:35 on a lonely Friday night
She was standing by the fire and ooh she was looking alright

B-Section
I asked her if she wanted to dance
And she said that
All she wanted was a good man
And wanted to know
If I thought I was qualified

Chorus
And I said baby don't waste your time
I know what's on your mind
I may be qualified for a one night stand
But I could never take the place of your man

Verse 2
It hurt me so bad when she told me with tears in her eyes
He was all she ever had and now she wanted to die
He left her with a baby and another one on the way
She couldn't stop crying cause she knew he was gone to stay

B-Section
She asked me if we could be friends
And I said oh honey baby that's a dead end
You know and I know
That we wouldn't be satisfied

Chorus
And I said baby don't waste your time
I know what's on your mind baby
Wouldn't be satisfied with a one night stand
And I could never take the place of your man

(Chorus out)

Lets take a look at the video and reminisce ...

Runaway Train by Soul Asylum

This song was a hit during the year 1992 and truth be told I was 7 years old at that time. Our next door neighbor has 3 sons whose youngest was 10 years older than I am and they had this song playing every now and then at full volume. The song's entitled Runaway Train by Soul Asylum

Runaway Train by Soul Asylum

Call you up in the middle of the night
Like a firefly without a light
You were there like a blow torch burnin'
I was a key that could use a little turnin'

So tired that I couldn't even sleep
So many secrets I couldn't keep
Promised myself I wouldn't weep
One more promise I couldn't keep

It seems no one can help me now
I'm in too deep
There's no way out
This time I have really led myself astray

[Chorus]
Runaway train never goin back
Wrong way on a one way track
Seems like I should be getting somewhere
Somehow I'm neither here nor there

Can you help me remember how to smile
Make it somehow all seem worthwhile
How on earth did I get so jaded
Life's mystery seems so faded

I can go where no one else can go
I know what no one else knows
Here I am just drownin' in the rain
With a ticket for a runaway train

And Everything seems cut and dry
Day and night, earth and sky
Somehow I just don't believe it

[Chorus]
Bought a ticket for a runaway train
Like a madman laughin' at the rain
Little outta touch, little insane
Just easier than dealin with the pain

[Chorus]
Runaway train never comin' back
Runaway train tearin' up the track
Runaway train burnin' in my veins
I runaway but it always seems the same

What Good Is A Heart by Code Red

This boy band was very popular here in the country some time in 1998 and 1999, every radio station in the country had their songs on the roll. It started with "This Is Our Song" which went topping the radion count downs for weeks and then a couple other more but this one is one of my absolute favorite from the group. So might I ask, what good is a heart, if you're not gonna use it ...

What Good Is A Heart by Code Red

I told you how I felt
I told you what it meant
But I still haven't changed your mind

I know that you're afraid,
You're frightened of the pain
But you can let down your guard

Cause when we run, we hide
We deny what's inside

Chorus
What good is a heart, if you're not gonna use it?
What good is your love, if you're too scared to choose it?
If your heart is beating, then it's for a reason
If you're not even willing to start, what good is a heart?

Don't make the same mistake that people often make
And miss out on a chance for love

You've got to make your move, you've got to make it soon
Cuz you're dying inside

Cuz I'm a man, but I cry
I have fears, I won't lie

Chorus

Come on baby, you know it
Girl anyone who looks can see that I'm right

There's a chance, we should take it
Or regret it for the rest of our lives

Chorus

The songs playing on my notebook depends on the mood am in ... right now I seem to be tripping down memory lane .. around late 90's that is.

Internet

An old friend of mine living somewhere in the Mississippi area are in the process of getting one of those hughs broadband satellite internet package anytime within the week. It has been difficult for them actually to get internet connection as satalite internet in Forest Lake, Mississippi is still a bit rare the moment. Communicating with her has been tough we relied heavily on mobile phone calls which are rather by the way pretty expensive and then the power of text messaging which still is expensive.

I was hoping that with the advanced power of telecommunications we'd be able to take advantage of the power of yahoo messenger, instant messagin or skype and all that but unfortunately ever since their move to Mississippi we haven't been able to communicate via the internet. I was told that the internet company they're gonna subscribe to offers competitive rate bundled with a decent speed. She's as excited as I am and hopefully bebfore the month ends we'll be able to go back to the way things were before their move.

Old School | Dawson's Creek

This was first aired when I was in freshmen High School and it got everybody addicted (when I say everybody, I mean all the girls) but back then we don't have any television and Dawson's Creek was aired every Monday night at 8AM and our neighbors don't watch it because it's in English and they'd rather watch something in our native tongue.

I saw bits and pieces of the series but not all the seasons and with the power of Ebay am able to acquire the entire seasons in DVD and now am watching it. Episode by episode, season per season and it reminds me of high school. Another trip down memory lane here.

So here's the track at the opening of the series:

I Don't Want To Wait by Paula Cole

so open up your morning light
and say a little prayer for right
you know that if we are to stay alive
and see the peace in every eye

she had two babies
one was six months one was three
in the war of '44
every telephone ring
every heartbeat stinging
when thought it was God calling her
oh would her son grow to know his father

CHORUS:
i don't want to wait
for our lives to be over
i want to know right now
what will it be
i don't want to wait
for our lives to be over
will it be yes or will it be
sorry

he showed up all wet
on the rainy front step
wearing shrapnel in his skin
and the war he saw
lives inside him still
it's so hard to be gentle and warm
the years passed by and now
he has a granddaughter

chorus

oh so you look at me
from across the room
you're wearing your anguish again
believe i know the feeling
it sucks you into the jaws of anger
oh, so breathe a little more deeply my love
all we have is the very moment
and i don't want to do what
his father and his father and his father did
i want to be here now

so open up your morning light
and say a little prayer for I
you know that if we are to stay alive
and see the peace in every eye

chorus (2 times)

so open up your morning light
and say a little prayer for right
you know that if we are to stay alive
and see the love in every eye

Scotty Doesn't Know by Lustra

I just watched Eurotrip another teen movie which stars Michelle Trachtenberg (she played Dawn in Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Scott Mechlowicz, Jacob Pitts, Kristen Kreuk and Matt Damon on cameo. Now there's this song playing at the graduation party scene where Donny (Matt Damon) the vocalist of a college band played a song which described in detail what he and Fiona (Scotty's ex-girlfriend) have been doing behind Scott's back. The song is called "Scotty Doesn't Know" and it's by the band named Lustra.

Scotty Doesn't Know by Lustra

Scotty doesn't know that Fiona
And me do it in my van every Sunday
She tells him she's in church but
She doesn't go
Still she's on her knees and
Scotty doesn't know

Oh Scotty doesn't know-oh
So don't tell Scotty
Scotty doesn't know
Scotty doesn't know
(So don't tell Scotty!)

Fiona says she's out shoppin'
But she's under me
And I'm not stoppin' 'cause

Scotty doesn't know
Scotty doesn't know
Scotty doesn't know
Scotty doesn't know
So don't tell Scotty
Scotty doesn't know-oh
(Don't tell Scotty!)

I can't believe he's so trustin',
While I'm right behind you thrustin'
Fiona's got him on the phone
And she's tryin' not to moan
It's a three way call
And he knows nothin', nothin'

Scotty doesn't know
Scotty doesn't know
Scotty doesn't know
Don't tell Scotty 'cause
Scotty doesn't know
Scotty doesn't know-oh

So don't tell Scotty
We'll put on a show
Everyone'll go
Scotty doesn't know
Scotty doesn't know
Scotty doesn't know

The parking lot, why not
It's so cool when you're on top
His front lawn, in the snow
Life is so hard 'cause
Scotty doesn't know
Scotty doesn't know

I did her on his birthday

Scotty doesn't know
Scotty doesn't know
Scotty doesn't know
Scotty doesn't know
Don't tell scotty
Scotty doesn't know-oh

Scotty will know
Scotty doesn't know
Scotty's gotta know
I'm gonna tell Scotty
I'll tell him myself
Scotty has to know
Scotty has to know
Scotty has to
Scotty has to
Scotty has to go
Scotty doesn't know
Scotty doesn't know
Scotty doesn't know (Don't Tell Scotty!)
Scotty doesn't know
Scotty doesn't know (Don't Tell Scotty, Scotty doesn't know)
Scotty doesn't
Scotty doesn't
Scotty doesn't know

Backup, ad-libbed until end:
Scotty doesn't know
Scotty doesn't know
Scotty doesn't know
Scotty doesn't know
Scotty doesn't know
Scotty doesn't know
Scotty doesn't know
Scotty doesn't know
Scotty's gotta go

Just The Girl by The Click Five

I was way behind the music scene when this band became a hit here ... I have no idea where I was but there songs were playing just about every radio station you could tune in to and I never was interested, I must have been stuck in another dimension or something till I saw this movie

familiar? The movie stars Brittany Snow, Jesse Metcalfe, Ashanti, Arielle Krebbel, Sophia Bush and Penn Badgely. One of the movie's soundtrack is entitled "Just The Girl" by The Click Five and I liked it so I came to know more about the band and the fact that they've visited the country ... oh am so behind. Lol

Just The Girl by The Click Five

She's cold and she's cruel
But she knows what she's doin'
She pushed me in the pool at our last school reunion
She laughs at my dreams
But I dream about her laughter
Strange as it seems
She's the one I'm after

Cause she's bittersweet
She knocks me off of my feet
And I can'help myself, I don't want anyone else
She's a mystery
She's too much for me
But I keep comin' back for more
She's just the girl I'm lookin' for

She can't keep a secret for more than an hour
She runs on 100 proof attitude power
And the more she ignores me
The more I adore her
What can I do?
I'd do anything for her

Cause she's bittersweet
She knocks me off of my feet
And I can't help myself I dont want anyone else
She's a mystery
She's too much for me
But I keep comin' back for more
She's just the girl I'm lookin' for

But when she sees it's me
On her caller ID
She won't pick up the phone
She'd rather be alone
But I can't give up just yet
'Cause every word she's ever said
Still ringin' in my head
Still ringin' in my head

She's cold and she's cruel
But she knows what she's doin'
Knows just what to say
So my whole day is ruined

'Cause she's bittersweet
She knocks me off of my feet
And I can't help myself, I don't want anyone else
She's a mystery
She's too much for me
But I keep comin' back for more

'Cause she's bittersweet
She knocks me off of my feet
And I can't help myself
I don't want anyone else
She's a mystery
She's too much for me
But I keep comin' back for more
Oh, I keep comin' back for more
She's just the girl I'm lookin' for
Just the girl I'm lookin' for

I'm lookin' for
I'm lookin' for
I'm lookin' for
Just the girl I'm lookin' for
