When You Find You, Come Back To Me

A good friend of mine broke up with her boyfriend of 5 years couple of weeks back and I cannot help but feel sorry for her. I met the guy just before they broke up and when she introduced me to him they had this happy couple facade and at that time I was fooled. I even told her I liked him instantly, he seems genuinely nice and you know how it is when you instantly warm up to the person? Well, that was how it was with him and she said he really is nice.

Only to find out that the guy was seeing someone else and when he asked for space ... it was not momentary but for good. *sigh*

So my friend has been devastated, imagine 5 years going on 6 wasted down the drain ... when I heard the song "Come Back To Me" by David Cook I told her about it and she said, "yeah that was my theme song the week we broke up". There's this line from the song:

Just know I'm here whenever you need me, I will wait for you

It used to apply when she was still hoping that they can patch things up. But right now the guy is
involved with someone else and my friend, well she's moving on ... hopefully.

So I'll let you go, I'll set you free And when you see what you need to see When you find you, Come back to me
I personally don't think he'll come back ... which is sad given what they've had. *sigh*

RIP Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson, the sensationally gifted child star who rose to become the “King of Pop” and the biggest celebrity in the world only to fall from his throne in a freakish series of scandals, died Thursday. He was 50.

Jackson died at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. Ed Winter, the assistant chief coroner for Los Angeles County, confirmed his office had been notified of the death and would handle the investigation.

The circumstances of Jackson’s death were not immediately clear. Jackson was not breathing when Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to a call at his Los Angeles home about 12:30 p.m., Capt. Steve Ruda told the Los Angeles Times. The paramedics performed CPR and took him to the hospital, Ruda told the newspaper.

Jackson’s death brought a tragic end to a long, bizarre, sometimes farcical decline from his peak in the 1980s, when he was popular music’s premier all-around performer, a uniter of black and white music who shattered the race barrier on MTV, dominated the charts and dazzled even more on stage.

His 1982 album “Thriller” — which included the blockbuster hits “Beat It,” “Billie Jean” and “Thriller” — is the best-selling album of all time, with an estimated 50 million copies sold worldwide.

The public first knew him in the late 1960s, when as a boy he was the precocious, spinning lead singer of the Jackson 5, the music group he formed with his four older brothers. Among their No. 1 hits were “I Want You Back,” “ABC” and “I’ll Be There.”

Shinjuku Incident

I've found out that MJ and I have the same rest days and since we got back from Bangkok it seemed like we'd hang out together on our rest days. The routine so far as I've noticed is eat out, window shopping and watch a movie. Some people would plan on watching a movie and would decide ahead of time what movie to watch but in our case we'd decide once we are in the ticket booth. Hehehe. So last week we watched Shinjuku Incident which stars Jackie Chan. We were choosing between this and Taking of Pelham 123 which stars Denzel Washington and John Travolta.

The movie reinforces in me the strong conviction that being an illegal alien won't do you any good.

Bella’s Lullaby

I saw the trailer of New Moon earlier while in the movie house and I cannot help but remember that music for Bella supposedly played by Edward. It’s very haunting and sweet perfect for the movie, the setting, the characters and the plot in its entirety. Am not sure if this music had lyrics on it if it’d have the same effect on me, I guess that’d be dependent on the words and on the voice of the artist whose gonna sing it. But for now I love it as it is and it’s stuck in my head, my iPod, my notebook. It has been playing on my notebook over and over for I don’t know how long.

Pale Ale by Kenichi Kurosawa

Are you a fan of Hunter X Hunter? If so then you must be familiar with that opening track on the first OVA ... which is basically about Kurapika's hunt of the Ryodan. So that opening track is titled "Pale Ale" by Kenichi Kurosawa and I cannot get the song out of my head and am listening to it over and over via youtube. Though I have no idea what the song is about (its in Japanese) but the beat and Kenichi's voice made the song all pleasing to my ears, it makes me wanna grab a guitar and just bang my head to the music.

Am posting the lyrics below so feel free to sing along with Kenichi in this youtube video of him on a concert.

Custard or Chocolate

While roaming round the mall I decided to take a break and eat a good meal at Red Ribbon. I ordered meal number 1 which consists of drinks, meal and a slice of cake, for the cake you get to choose between chocolate or custard and being a chocolate lover I opted for the chocolate slice. Now when it was served they got me a custard cake instead when I said I ordered chocolate he shoved the receipt at me and said what's printed was custard.

Now I got two options to shrug it off and just enjoy the cake or to rant and bitch about it and demand on having it replaced. While munching on my food I weighed the cons and pros of each side ... now though I wanna have a chocolate cake am not all pleased with the idea of nagging. The idea of bitching seem to have some sort of appeal for instantaneous release but then mom used to say that educated people don't rant and rave and humilate others.

But then they wouldn't switch my cake even after I asked politely so I let it go and charge it to experience.

Hold On To You by Alex Band

So remember Alex Band of The Calling? Yes, that's right. He's the gorgeous vocals of The Calling with that heart shattering voice and beautiful face. Am bubbling and yes I adore him voice, face and gorgeousness all in one. Well I've been a true blooded TC fan in the span that they've been a band but now that Alex has gone solo I follow his music just the same. This new song of his, well not really that new it has been released in 2007 I think, entitled "Hold On To You" sweeps me off my chair and I just love it. Take a look at the lyrics and see the video below, it's not the music video but a fan vid which is nice just the same.

Hold On To You by Alex Band

You walked into my world
A beautiful girl
Lost in a movie
And though we’re light-years apart
I’ve stolen your heart
Left you on empty
And I know that this isn’t fair
But in all the craziness I need you there

Chorus:
I’m gonna hold on to you
I’m gonna stay strong for you
And if everyone fades away
I’ll still be there for you

Naked under the sky
It’s a blue moon night
We sink with the ocean
Crashes up at our feet
So sticky and sweet
Never felt more like children
In my mind I’m trying to find sanity
With all the confusion here, it’s hard to breathe, but I'll
breathe...

Chorus...

All my life I’ve dealt with pain
So I don’t need you to drive me insane
Even the best things have to fall
It makes you wonder why we love at all?

And I know that this isn’t fair
But in all the craziness
I need you there
And I know you’re impossible to top
You ask me if you’re too little
You're more than enough for me...

Chorus...

Im gonna reach, reach, reach out to you
I wanna be one with you
And if everything fades away
I’ll still be there for you

Friends? Not Quite

It might seem too dramatic and very conceited of me but being uninvited by people I thought friends just doesn't suit me well. I mean I don't mean to be such a conceited little brat but all am saying is friends do let friends know of their plans even if they don't have any more room for additional people right? A "hey we're doing this and that" and I'd say " yeah, that's cool" would have been sufficient. But no, they don't let you in ... so much for being friends.

It would have been easier to deal with if they were with other group of friends, like people I don't know about, but dang they were all "friends of mine" or so I thought till now.

You really wouldn't know who's for real and who's not. Well guess now I know .... mere acquaintances not friends.

The Man Who Can't Be Moved by The Script

So I was seated next to my team lead's station and since am on Priority 2 I tend to have more avail time than the others so I could at breathe after every call and since my boss and I share the love for music, he asked if I have heard of the song the Man Who Can't Be Moved by The Script, and I said, No. So he motioned for me to come over his station and I did. Placed my phone on speakers and took on the preferred headphones and there I got my taste of The Script .... I fell in love instantly.

The Script at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert 2008 Photo: Harry Wad

The Script is a three piece Irish pop rock band from Dublin Ireland and had their debut album (The Script) released in August 2008. It was a multi platinum selling album and the song The Man Who Can't Be Moved was in the fourth season of Ghost Whisperer.

The lyrics of this song is just plain amazing, the voice of Danny O'Donoghue is just so ... I dunno. I can't seem to explain it. We both agreed that the song is sweet and very sad at the same time ... he sounded kinda pathetic but I love it just the same. We kept the song playing over and over and Jovie got addicted to it just the same that we both kept on asking for it to be played over and over until the end of my shift. When I heard his voice it just sound so damn familiar but I cannot seem to put my finger on it. I know somehow he sounds like another artist but I just can't name it out. But the song, the voice and the lyrics is amazing!!!! You guys gotta check it out. One of the sweetest and the saddest song I've ever heard.

Here's the lyrics guys, check it out.

Going Back to the corner where I first saw you
Gonna camp in my sleeping bag I'm not gonna move
Got some words on cardboard, got your picture in my hand
saying, "if you see this girl can you tell her where I am"

Some try to hand me money, they don't understand
I'm not broke I'm just a broken hearted man
I know it makes no sense but what else can I do
How can I move on when I'm still in love with you

Cause If one day you wake up and find your missing me
and your heart starts to wonder where on this earth I could be
Thinking maybe you'll come back here to the place that we'd meet
And you'll see me waiting for you on our corner of the street
So I'm not moving, I'm not moving

Policeman says, "son you can't stay here"
I said, "there's someone I'm waiting for if it's a day, a month, a year"
Gotta stand my ground even if it rains or snows
If she changes her mind this is the first place she will go

Cause if one day you wake up and find your missing me
and your heart starts to wonder where on this earth I could be
Thinkin maybe you'll come back here to the place that we'd meet
And you'll see me waiting for you on our corner of the street
So I'm not moving, I'm not moving,
I'm not moving, I'm not moving

People talk about the guy that's waiting on a girl
There are no holes in his shoes but a big hole in his world

Maybe i'll get famous as the man who can't be moved
Maybe you wont mean to but you'll see me on the news
And you'll come running to the corner
cause you'll know it's just for you
I’m the man who can't be moved

Cause If one day you wake up and find your missing me
and your heart starts to wonder where on this earth I could be
Thinking maybe you'll come back here to the place that we'd meet
And you'll see me waiting for you on our corner of the street
So I'm not moving, I'm not moving
I'm not moving, I'm not moving

Cause If one day you wake up and find your missing me
and your heart starts to wonder where on this earth I could be
Thinking maybe you'll come back here to the place that we'd meet
And you'll see me waiting for you on our corner of the street

Going Back to the corner where I first saw you
Gonna camp in my sleeping bag I'm not gonna move

17 Again

I'm not a big Zac Efron and truth be told I have missed watching the High School musical thingy ... but I picked 17 Again as I have read quite several nice reviews about it.

Kinda cute actually because its about people getting second chances to do things over, like with some sort of guardian angel asking if that's really what you want and you absentmindedly answer, YES. With full inclination that once you go back and get to do over its your life you'll do over but instead find out that you're meant to help someone else.

It's one of those feel good movies that I so adore, you know love, life, and drama with happy endings. Oh I am such a sucker for happy endings. Now after watching the movie it got me thinking that if I'd be asked to do things over again I'd give it a pass. Though highschool was pretty much boring for me I wouldn't trade it for anything else. It might have been boring to most people but I loved it just the same, it contributed to who I am today.

For the benefit of the reader, my high school was purely all about scoring the exams right, being on top of that freaking honor roll and hanging out with the right people, finishing one book after the other, CAT practice and believe or not band practice. lol ... no parties, not much drinking, not much shopping and all that. But it was well worth it and like Mike if I'm given the chance to do it over again I'd be making the same choices just the same.
