A Hollywood studio is working on a second "Sex and the City" film adapted from the hugely successful television series, the industry daily Variety said Friday.
But the title and the plot are being kept under wraps by the studios New Line, Variety said, adding the new movie is due to be released on May 28, 2010, in the United States and Canada.
The first "Sex and the City" film, in which Sarah Jessica Parker, 44, reprised her role from the television series as journalist Carrie Bradshaw, was a huge box-office hit bringing in some 400 million dollars.
The film followed the lives of Carrie and her friends, art dealer Charlotte (Kristin Davis), who converted for love to Judaism; Miranda the lawyer and single mother (Cynthia Nixon); and Samantha the man-eater (Kim Catrall).
